According to MSNBC News, a letter is being auctioned in London this week, which paradoxes Einstein’s views about religion and spirituality. In the note, written the year before his death, Einstein encourages that the idea of God is the result of human vulnerability, and that the Bible is "pretty childish." Einstein claimed that "the word God is for me nothing more than the expression and product of human weaknesses, the Bible a collection of honourable but still primitive legends which are nevertheless pretty childish." |

According to the Toronto Star, all immigrants applying to live in Canada as “skilled workers” - even those whose first languages are English or French - could soon be expected to complete an imperative language test, to demonstrate knowledge of the English language: one of Canada’s official languages. |

Cheers Tavern. Most of you jump right into a sitcom, but for locals of East York, Toronto, Cheers is their handy Moe’s Tavern on the Danforth. Unless you were there, and maybe even if you were, you wouldn’t know there was anything particularly special about it. It was a vast and yawning space, eerily vacant everywhere save the bar, where Joe served up the sauce to a small handful of faithful alcoholics. |
