Eastborough came together in the summer of 2006, playing their first show on a sweltering July night in Ottawa. Over the course of that summer the band traveled to an old farmhouse where they recorded what would become their debut self-titled EP-- four tightly crafted pop-rock tunes, hammered out in dimly lit, smoky basements.

The final product, released in October 2006, received exposure from Chart Attack, CKCU 93.1fm as well as LIVE 88.5fm and boasts "A small scale wall of sound feel. Songs such as the pretty "You call I fold" and the upbeat "Instrumental" display a wealth of promise." (Ottawa Sun)

Singer Stefani Guzman, the “little woman, big sound” (Ladyfest), surrounds herself with veterans of the Ottawa music scene: Aedan Helmer (guitar), Nina Langfield (guitar), Paul Mahar (bass) and Justin Purvis (drums). These musicians mix in a crunchy backline, layering splashes of trumpet, hand claps, melodica, glockenspiel, and moog over non-fiction stories inspired by X’s and O’s, action/ consequence and sung with the urgency of last chances.
