'the outside world' truly began in the late 90's. Judd called mike to ask him about a guitar teacher in the area. They had known each other since kindergarten. They both took lessons from the same teacher, they both lived minutes away from each other. They started writing songs.

When scouting the local talent to find bass and drums they found gideon. He was the drummer for a few years. This is where the trouble started. Mike was comfortable as the main song writer. Gid wrote better songs. So eventually, after forming and destroying a band called "rainy day glory", the three guys, Judd, Dideon and Mike, formed a new band called "the outside world."

We're an "art rock" band. We think lyrics are important. We're not looking to "get noticed."  We just want to write great songs.
