Hawley/Shaw Joshua Shaw grew up in Toronto's West end, amongst a family of musicians with musical styles ranging from Rock, Folk, Jazz and R & B. As a young musician (drummer), he became involved with various Top 40 bands performing locally for a number of years.

After meeting Chris Hawley at a Toronto jam session, the two formed a songwriting partnership that after only a short time has produced over 100 songs. Chris Hawley was raised abroad, and at age 10 taught himself guitar while living in Saudi Arabia. By 1990, Hawley had formed his first bands and was making his living performing in and around the Toronto area.

When Hawley began collaborating with Shaw, he brought a passion for groups as diverse as The Beatles, ZZ Top, and The Allman Brothers. These influences merge with Shaws' love for for Hip-Hop and soul music. Shaw and Hawley have been working their material into shape for 3 years.

These songs have been lived. This collection has a refreshingly varied sound and style with a common thread of passion and soulfulness.
