"By combining a staunch dedication to strong, clever musicianship with grasping hooks, tasteful improvisation and three-part harmonies, Vanderpark's catchy, aggressive pop is strong, confident and exhaustingly contagious." - by Shain Shapiro, Relix – the Magazine for Music
Since its inception in 2001, Vanderpark has been carving their powerful and undeniable musical influence into the Canadian music scene by standing at the frontlines of the revolution that is present in the music industry today. Two soaring harmonies are at the heart of their trademark sound, while intricately crafted songs remain their anchor. Vanderpark's sonic diversity and appeal is no less than universal. Exuding palpitated grooves, weaving melodies that uplift the soul, and rocking fist-pumping anthems, Vanderpark delivers a concert experience that is utterly unique and refreshing.
The great, powerful voices and mastery of the instruments are but two aspects that make these guys pack venues and have such a solid following.â?- The McGill Tribune, Montreal, QC
The incredible dynamic that exists between the five members of Vanderpark is as evident as their talent. Being long-time friends that all share a love for performing, the boys of Vanderpark radiate a comfortable and familiar easiness on stage, even as their songs turn more technically demanding. This is an aspect of Vanderpark that has captured so many of their followers. Fans seem to relate to what this band does on stage, their antics, lyrics, grooves and most importantly music. For some, it's obvious that Vanderpark offers music from the soul, untainted by many of the ideals set to sail by the mainstream. Vanderpark is simply five guys trying to communicate each song as one entity.
Always hard at work, Vanderpark has maintained their loyal following despite members previously attending different universities located in Ottawa, Toronto, and Montreal. It has been vigorous and intense touring that has taken the band from Hamilton to Halifax, which has also been the key to their success. Recently opening for the legendary touring band Little Feat on the Canadian leg of their 2005 Summer Tour, Vanderpark's musical prowess and heavy hook- laden songs proved to amaze fans of the 'jam-band' giant. In '05 Vanderpark also shared the stage with triple platinum selling artists The Spin Doctors, as well as Truths and Rights featuring long-time members of both highly acclaimed acts Big Sugar, and Toots and the Maytals.
For this young band, the buzz surrounding the release of their debut album, ?"All Your Hands", is spreading fast, as their active word-of-mouth fan base continues to grow. "All Your Hands" highlights Vanderpark's songwriting savvy, tight harmonies, and serious musicianship, while validating that these boys have a relentless appetite for progress.
If you haven't heard of Vanderpark, you soon will. This is one band that can't, and won't, be ignored.
