Avenue Road is a young band that stands out as having an original sound. Their passion for music has pushed them to write with meaning and purpose. They sound similar to Bob Dylan, Neil Young and Credence Clearwater Revival.

Avenue Road's first live performance was at the Highwayman in Orillia, Ontario in 2004. James and Andrew performed an acoustic set of primarily cover songs to a busy room. The room caught fire when James debuted his pop/rock gem Buck and a Half for the crowd (not literally, of course). The following summer, they played at the Horseshoe Valley in Barrie, Ontario, adding Steve to the roster. The band's first gig as a foursome came in 2005 at the same venue. They have since played numerous shows in Central Ontario including Toronto. In the summer of 2006, the band took their act to the studio and recorded three original tunes. The demo features a guest appearance by Rick Morrison (The Band, April Wine) who was also the producer of the project. It was distributed to fans, friends, and to record companies. James is also a member of the Songwriter's Association of Canada, the Maine Songwriter's Association, SOCAN and BMI music. James has played numerous live shows in Maine and on May 10th, he was a featured performer at the Northstar in Portland as a part of the Maine Songwriter's Association Showcase. Avenue Road was also recently chosen to be represented by the Blue Pie Music Label in a professional and digital licensing agreement to have its music sold globally. Their catalogue of original songs spans over 160 and is continually growing. They are looking forward to the opportunity of playing live in the spring and to recording more of their music.
