Sang-Freud

Sang–Freud, the metal band from Fergus Ontario, was formed in 1994 by Jonathan Lisinski and B.J. Fish.  Their goal was take metal into new realms of heaviness and in-your-face aggression.  In 1996 the band recorded an eleven song demo, featuring the song ‘War Cries’ which helped them to quickly grow a local following.  They subsequently played throughout southern Ontario to very enthusiastic crowds and were featured on 100.3 FM, University of Waterloo’s campus radio, and 98.5 FM in Kitchener. After a several year hiatus during which Lisinski completed his university degree, they reformed in 2001 and put together the compilation demo “Sang-Freud”.  They have since played at several Toronto concert halls such as The Kathedral, The Reverb and The Vatikan. Fish recently left the band to pursue other interests leaving singing duties to Lisinski, who has moved the band to Toronto.  With Lisinski on vocals, they have just finished recording a new 13 song album at Mastermind Studio in Hamilton which will be released in 2007.  They have been playing regularly in Toronto in 2007 and will continue to do so throughout the year.  Sang-Freud is determined to become the next Canadian metal sensation and are well on their way to accomplishing that goal.
